Cherry tree Festival of Chiyoda

British Embassy

British Embassy

Row of cherry blossom trees in front of famous British Embassy. In 1898 (Meiji 31), minister Ernest Satow at the time planted cherry tree in vacant land in front of legation and contributed this cherry tree to Tokyo prefecture. Imagination does not run out, but it is said that we were able to overlook wonderful view of Mount Fuji and the sea from embassy while seeing cherry blossoms in those days now.
